I am thrilled to have a guest post up about the great state of Georgia today over on Sara's blog: The Traveling PhoBlogWriPher.
If you found me from her blog, I'm thankful you have stopped by to check things out here. I'd love to "meet" you, so please leave me a comment. And if you haven't already, make sure you congratulate Sara and her husband. Their little bundle of joy was welcomed into this world just a couple of weeks ago! If you're like me and have "baby brain," read through Sara's pregnancy posts. I enjoyed reading them and living vicariously through Sara.
Thank you, Sara, for the opportunity to highlight my state!
HI! New follower from Sara's blog.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I currently live in Texas but we are going to Georgia next month to scout locations for our upcoming move! We have been wanting to move for some time now and for some reason Georgia has been calling to us - even though neither one of us have ever been! We will be staying in Jasper with some family, but will be going up to Hiawassee, Blairsville, Clayton.. etc! Do you have any must see places in that area? Thank you! :)
Hi Natasha! :)
DeleteSadly, I have not explored much of the northeastern part of Georgia - I've just driven through it. However, I'm told that Brasstown Bald is a beautiful place. (It's also the highest geographic point in Georgia.) Driving through Helen is pretty. It's a bit touristy, but it looks like a little slice of Germany.
It's a bit out of the way from the Blairsville, but Fort Mountain State Park has a nice hike (not at all difficult) that brings you to the top of the mountain. The view is worth it. We've done it once with many intentions to do it again because of the view.
I hope this help, and I hope you and your husband enjoy your time here! :)
Thank you so much!!
